Softball Game Preview: McHenry Warriors vs. Crystal Lake South Gators

The McHenry Warriors will challenge the Crystal Lake South Gators at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. McHenry's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between McHenry and Barrington, and Barrington kept the tradition alive. The Warriors came up short against the Fillies/Broncos on Saturday, falling 10-2.

McHenry saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danica McCarthy, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 10-1 to Woodstock.

Crystal Lake South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for McHenry, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Crystal Lake South's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: McHenry hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Crystal Lake South, though, as they've only averaged .170. Will they be able to contain McHenry's hitters?

McHenry took their win against Crystal Lake South when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 20-3 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
