After both having extra time off, the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves and the Miami Country Day Spartans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Miami Country Day took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oxbridge Academy, who comes in off a win.
While Oxbridge Academy's victory against The Greene School wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The ThunderWolves had just enough and edged out the Dolphins 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the ThunderWolves have posted since August 25th.
Oxbridge Academy wouldn't go down easily and took The Greene School into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-12, 25-27, 26-24, 15-6.

Olivija Kozul had an outrageously good game as she had 19 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Katie Ross also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Oxbridge Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Miami Country Day came up short against Calvary Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.
Miami Country Day started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.
Miami Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Oxbridge Academy, their record is now 9-11.
Oxbridge Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Miami Country Day in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the ThunderWolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
