Volleyball Recap: Waukegan Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Waukegan dropped their record down to 17-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mundelein Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

As for Mundelein, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

Leading Mundelein to victory were Rance Cruz and Zack Nocera. Cruz had 13 digs, while Nocera had four digs and one block. Nocera has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last six times he's played. Jordan Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Coming up, Waukegan will look to defend their home court on Monday against Deerfield at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mundelein, they will head out to face off against Grant Community at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: the Bulldogs will have lost five straight heading into Tuesday's game.
