Baseball Recap: Limon Comes Up Short

Limon fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Peyton on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 11-10. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brooks Scherrer put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Scherrer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Brody Scherrer and Camdyn Tacha did some serious damage despite the final result: Brody went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Tacha got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Liam Yoder was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Limon's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Peyton, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Limon will challenge Wiggins at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peyton, they will take on Fowler at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
