Basketball Recap: Cherokee Piles Up the Points Against Waterloo

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cherokee had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by the Waterloo Cougars to the tune of 61-25. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-25 last Friday.

Cherokee's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Waterloo, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Cherokee will venture away from home to challenge Athens Bible at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Athens Bible knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Cherokee likes a good challenge.
