Volleyball Recap: Marietta Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Marietta won the last time they faced Point Pleasant and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Big Blacks.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marietta was: they took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-9, 25-7.

Ava Prim had an outrageously good game as she had seven aces and four digs. What's more, she racked up 18 assists, the most she's had over her last six contests. Clara Becker was another key player, getting 12 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Marietta was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Point Pleasant only served one.

Marietta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Point Pleasant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10-1.

Marietta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Southern on the 29th. Point Pleasant has also already played their next contest (against Herbert Hoover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
