Baseball Recap: Industrial Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rice Consolidated last Friday, Industrial came back down to earth. The Cobras fell just short of the Palacios Sharks by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cobras of the 16-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sam Kurtz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Kuchler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The defeat snapped Industrial's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-5 record. As for Palacios, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

While Industrial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
