Softball Recap: Andalusia Wins Going Away Against Highland Home

Andalusia barely beat Highland Home the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Andalusia Bulldogs blew past the Highland Home Flying Squadron 21-0 on Monday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kailey Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Austin Seal was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Maddie Everett was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Andalusia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .897. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Andalusia moved to 7-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Highland Home, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Andalusia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 win against Greenville on the 11th. As for Highland Home, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 loss against Headland on the 11th.
