League recap: Glastonbury leads league with four wins since last week

Central Connecticut - North league recap: 5/22/13

Glastonbury outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its four total wins led the league. The Tomahawks beat South Windsor 6-5 and Wethersfield 5-3.

With a rough week, the Bobcats dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. South Windsor fell from No. 19 to No. 47 after going 0-3 over the past week. The Bobcats are ranked No. 4,974 in the nation, and have an overall record of 12-7.

Manchester's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 21 hits and eight walks to lead Central Connecticut - North in both categories.

Windsor's Casey Johnson led the league in strikeouts this week with five. He's first in the league with 37 total strikeouts.



Alex Simon's .500 batting average (5-for-10) for the Warriors was the best in the league this week. For the season, he's hitting .304, good for 14th in the league. Simon has accumulated 14 base knocks this year so far.
