Baseball Preview: Elkton Golden Elks vs. Perryville Panthers        
        
		
            
 The Elkton Golden Elks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Perryville Panthers at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Elkton will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
 On Wednesday, it was a hard-fought  contest, but Elkton had to settle for  a  6-5 defeat against Harford Tech.
  Caleb Potter put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Potter was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Potter wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kaleb Kennedy, who  went 2-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Jose Romero, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Elkton  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 15  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Perryville's offense. Their  tough  8-0 loss to Harford Tech  on Monday might stick with them for a while. The  match marked that first time this season in which Perryville was not able to get on the board.
 Elkton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Perryville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Elkton was able to grind out a solid  win over Perryville in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, winning  7-4. Does  Elkton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Perryville turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
