Loveland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Elder on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 11-4. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Adam Lake and Gavin Joyner did most of the damage at the plate: Lake got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, while Joyner went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three runs gave Lake a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Hatfield, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Loveland pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Elder, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-10.

Loveland and Elder are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Tigers will be playing at home against Harrison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Loveland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elder, they are taking a road trip to square off against La Salle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
