Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage lost against Rolesville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Heritage Huskies received a blow as they fell 76-60 to the Rolesville Rams. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Huskies came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Rams are ranked 243rd).

Rolesville was led to victory by Anthony Roberts, Jr and Caiden Jenkins. Roberts, Jr almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Jenkins went 10 of 17 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. The contest was Roberts, Jr's third in a row with at least ten points. Marquis Bryant was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to ten assists and five boards.

Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Rolesville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Heritage and Wake Forest will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Wake Forest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Rolesville, they and Wakefield will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Rolesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
