Volleyball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Takes a Loss

Goodpasture Christian was the 2-0 winner over Independence when they last played one another back in September of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Independence to victory were Raegan Burtch and Caitlyn Bragg. Burtch had three digs and two aces, while Bragg had seven assists and four digs. Burtch is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Goodpasture Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Independence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Goodpasture Christian will welcome Father Ryan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Liberty Creek on the 23rd.
