Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Perkins Pirates

The Lexington Minutemen will head out on the road to square off against the Perkins Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lexington will be strutting in after a victory while Perkins will be coming in after a loss.

Perkins will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Lexington extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Minutemen came out on top against Johnstown-Monroe by a score of 9-4. While the Minutemen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Perkins suffered their closest defeat since April 2nd on Thursday. They fell just short of Eastwood by a score of 5-3. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lexington's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Lexington might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Perkins in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Minutemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
