Baseball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Takes a Loss

Schaumburg Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Walther Christian Academy Broncos, falling 12-3. The Conquerors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Schaumburg Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vander Herman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Cooper Smith also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Schaumburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Walther Christian Academy, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Looking ahead, Schaumburg Christian will face off against Families of Faith Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Screaming Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Conquerors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Walther Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Westmont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
