Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Windermere's Fifth in Last Six Outings

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Windermere and Ocoee meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wolverines came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lauren Harper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tessa Olofson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Boyer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Windermere has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ocoee, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Coming up, Windermere is taking a road trip to face off against Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.83 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ocoee, they will be playing at home against Lake Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
