Volleyball Recap: Otis Comes Up Short

If Otis was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Briggsdale on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Prairie Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Otis started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 11-25, 25-12, 25-15, 15-3.

Kensley Packer paced Otis' offense, picking up eight kills. Packer got some help from Crysten Goble and her 18 assists. Packer and Goble didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Prairie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kali Sutter, who had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most assists Sutter has posted over her last six contests.

Otis has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Prairie, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Otis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Stratton on the 10th. As for Prairie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Weldon Valley on the 10th.
