Softball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

Gilmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-2 to the LaFayette Ramblers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Ramblers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat on Monday.

Lily Fortune made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for LaFayette, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gilmer is set to square off against their familiar foe Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, LaFayette will face off against rival Adairsville at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
