Softball Game Preview: Metamora Redbirds vs. Washington Panthers

Metamora has won four straight games at home, while Washington has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Redbirds will host the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Metamora 1.7, Washington 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Metamora is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Dunlap just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Redbirds were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Washington got themselves on the board against Morton on Tuesday, but Morton never followed suit. They blew past the Potters 11-0. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Metamora, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.
