Mathews has gone 8-2 against Bristol recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Monday, Mathews didn't have quite enough to beat Windham and fell 7-6. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last seven times Bristol and Pymatuning Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Brock Pierce was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Jack Berry also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bristol dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mathews, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Mathews suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Bristol in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
