Baseball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Huntley Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Central will face off against Huntley. The Rockets will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Huntley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Central's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Huntley hitters got past them. The Rockets came up short against the Red Raiders on Wednesday, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rockets have suffered against the Red Raiders since April 20, 2022.

Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Powrozek, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Huntley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.
