Soccer Recap: Monsignor Donovan Catholic Takes a Loss

Monsignor Donovan Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to the Gatewood Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Gatewood this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 last Friday.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gatewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monsignor Donovan Catholic will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Athens Christian at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Gatewood, they will head out to challenge Augusta Prep Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gatewood will be up against Augusta Prep Day's rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
