Basketball Recap: Keith Takes a Loss

After flying high against University Charter last Tuesday, Keith came back down to earth. The Keith Bears came up short against the Hale County Wildcats on Thursday, falling 75-54. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Keith still got an impressive performance from Jarius Sanders, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Sanders a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquavion McElroy, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Keith smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Keith's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Hale County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Keith didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-38 defeat against Dallas County on the 20th. As for Hale County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 85-71 win against Sumter Central on the 20th.
