Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Wins Going Away Against West

Bishop Carroll won the last time they faced West and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Pioneers. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Emerson Hiebert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that she got this season.

In other batting news, Bishop Carroll got a massive performance out of Lilly Martin, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Martin a new career-high. Kiersten Jones was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Bishop Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Bishop Carroll's win bumped their record up to 7-2.
