Baseball Recap: Albany Academy for Boys Starts Season with Win Against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk

Albany Academy for Boys had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians 7-6 on Thursday. This was payback for the Cadets, who suffered an 8-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brody Staff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Faiola, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Albany Academy for Boys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk only posted a batting average of .160.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk now has a losing record of 1-2.
