Volleyball Recap: Colleton County Comes Up Short

Colleton County lost against Bishop England back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Battling Bishops, falling 3-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Colleton County took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14, 25-18.

Bishop England's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jules Gurrieri led the charge by getting four aces and three digs. That's the most digs Gurrieri has posted over her last three matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Williams, who had five aces and three digs.

Colleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Bishop England, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Colleton County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Hilton Head Island on the 16th. As for Bishop England, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bluffton on the 16th.
