After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbia, El Campo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Brazosport Exporters as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ricebirds, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kamryn Mears was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Mears was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Presley Bacak, who scored two runs and stole three bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mac'Yia Warner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
El Campo's win bumped their record up to 17-6-1. As for Brazosport, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
