Football Recap: Red Cloud Skates Past Dorchester with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Red Cloud on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Dorchester Longhorns out of the water with a 58-0 final score. Considering the Warriors have won six matchups by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Red Cloud didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kj Daehling and Mason Bolin. Bolin has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last eight times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Red Cloud, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Connor Rust, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Red Cloud pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games. As for Dorchester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Red Cloud will head out to challenge Pawnee City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 37 points per game this season. As for Dorchester, they will be playing at home against Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
