Softball Recap: Archbishop Murphy's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Archbishop Murphy won the last time they faced Edmonds-Woodway and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 6-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ari Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Maliya Dixon was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Archbishop Murphy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Archbishop Murphy is set to challenge their familiar foe Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Edmonds-Woodway will square off against rival Mountlake Terrace at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
