Softball Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep Highlanders vs. Trinity Christian Academy Eagles

The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will square off against the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Highland Prep has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 5.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lake Highland Prep's offense. They lost 10-0 to Cardinal Mooney on Tuesday.

Trinity Christian Academy came out on top against Atlantic on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Sharks. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kay'La Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Leigha Winters, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Trinity Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Trinity Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Highland Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Highland Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Trinity Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
