Basketball Game Preview: Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians vs. Mechanicville Red Raiders

Waterford-Halfmoon hasn't had much luck against Mechanicville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians will welcome the Mechanicville Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Waterford-Halfmoon turned things around against Hudson Ridge two weeks ago. They walked away with a 63-54 win over the Thunder Chicken. The Fordians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Mechanicville opened the new year with a less-than-successful 74-63 loss to Hudson Falls.

Mechanicville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.

Waterford-Halfmoon was taken down by Mechanicville 75-34 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Waterford-Halfmoon was down 41-11.
