Softball Recap: Otsego Comes Up Short

Otsego extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-10. They fell 4-0 to the Eastwood Eagles. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

As for Eastwood, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games.

For Eastwood's part, not much got past MacKenzie Hady, who gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Otsego off the board. Hady has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eastwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Lubash, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Otsego is set to face off against their familiar foe Fostoria at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eastwood will challenge rival Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 1.4, the Flyers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
