Recap: Skyline Raiders vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes
The matchup between the Skyline Raiders and the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Skyline was dealt a 84-41 loss at the hands of Duncanville. Skyline was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-19.
Duncanville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Clayton led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Laila Coleman, who scored 16 points.
Skyline bumped their record down to 13-14 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Duncanville, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-3.
Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mansfield is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Duncanville, they will head out on the road to challenge DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
