Basketball Recap: Fort Ann's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Fort Ann's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Hartford Central Tanagers by a score of 55-48. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 64-46 win the Tanagers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Ann to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kadyence Cutter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Cutter has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Stowhas, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 boards.

Fort Ann smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Fort Ann's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Hartford Central, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

When Fort Ann and Hartford Central next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Fort Ann will face off against Schroon Lake and their six-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Hartford Central will try to stop Granville's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
