Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hall Eagles vs. Interlachen Rams

The Oak Hall Eagles will challenge the Interlachen Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hall will be strutting in after a win while Interlachen will be coming in after a loss.

Oak Hall played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over St. Joseph Academy. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Interlachen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to Umatilla at home by a 64-50 margin. The Rams were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Interlachen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabe Aguayo dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aguayo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lawrence Sharp, who posted 16 points and four steals.

Oak Hall is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Interlachen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Oak Hall strolled past Interlachen when the teams last played back in January of 2025 by a score of 56-40. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
