Basketball Recap: Baldwin Falls Short Against Ranked Ottawa

On Friday, Baldwin faced Ottawa in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Baldwin Bulldogs took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ottawa Cyclones. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-52 back in January.

Baldwin lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cooper Carr, who posted 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Leo Schoenberger was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and five boards.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Ottawa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Coincidentally, Baldwin and Ottawa will both be playing Tonganoxie the next time they take the court. Baldwin will head out to face Tonganoxie at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Ottawa will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
