Basketball Game Preview: Central Knights vs. Classical Purple

Central is 0-10 against Classical since January of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 11:00 a.m. without much rest having both just played. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully Classical likes a good challenge.

Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Classical, who was ranked second at the time (Central was ranked seventh). Central fell to Classical 77-72.

Central better focus on containing Eliezer Delbrey and Abdul Evans as the pair were huge in Classical's win. Delbrey posted 30 points, while Evans put up 25 points. The game was Delbrey's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Duke, who scored nine points.

Classical is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
