Basketball Recap: East's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

It was a good run, but East unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 55-46 to the Chaney Cowboys. East was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chaney apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Chaney's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Brown led the charge by putting up 13 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Simone Lewis, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds.

East's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Chaney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

East will venture away from home to take on Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chaney, they will welcome Canton South at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Chaney's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
