Basketball Game Preview: New Garden Friends Bears vs. Carolina Day Wildcats

The New Garden Friends Bears just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Carolina Day Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Garden Friends has three straight victories, Carolina Day has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, New Garden Friends was able to grind out a solid win over Cape Fear Christian Academy, taking the game 62-53.

Meanwhile, Carolina Day lost 67-46 to Christ School on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Greenies are ranked first).

New Garden Friends has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Carolina Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Everything came up roses for New Garden Friends against Carolina Day in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-27 victory. Will New Garden Friends repeat their success, or does Carolina Day have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
