Football Recap: Academy of the New Church Comes Up Short on the Road Against Holy Cross + How To Watch

Academy of the New Church had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Holy Cross Lancers, falling 33-13. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Shane Reilley was nothing short of spectacular for Holy Cross: he rushed for 77 yards and one score, and also threw for 170 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of the New Church will head out to square off against Wyomissing at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holy Cross, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Wildwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Lancers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
