Baseball Recap: West Clermont Wins Going Away Against Winton Woods

West Clermont was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Winton Woods on Wednesday. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Warriors. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jacob Huddleson looked comfortable as he struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylan Henson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Hood, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

West Clermont hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winton Woods struck out 12 times.

West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Winton Woods, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Clermont beat the Warriors by a score of 15-0 later that day.
