Baseball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Summit Christian Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-7 to make it four. They came up short against the Mount View Golden Knights, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 back in April.

As for Mount View, their record now sits at 10-7-1. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Mount View's part, Jackson Rose made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rose has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyrece Hughes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Tanner Little also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Summit Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount View, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 win against Van on the 7th.
