Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Academy Panthers vs. Lehman Lions

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Marshall Academy Panthers challenge the Lehman Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday... The timing is sure in Marshall Academy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Lehman has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Marshall Academy humbled Bronx High School of Science with a 67-33 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lehman took a blow against DeWitt Clinton on Tuesday, falling 63-25. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Governors are ranked 240th).

Marshall Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lehman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything came up roses for Marshall Academy against Lehman in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-7 victory. Will Marshall Academy repeat their success, or does Lehman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
