Soccer Game Preview: Seguin vs. Edison

The Seguin Matadors will head out to challenge the Edison Golden Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Seguin is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Jefferson just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Mustangs. Considering the last time the Matadors couldn't score was back in January, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Edison narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Jefferson 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Seguin's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for Edison, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Everything went Seguin's way against Edison in their previous matchup back in January, as Seguin made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seguin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
