Softball Recap: Sheridan Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Sheridan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Genoa Central Dragons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since April 1st.

Marly Lancaster and Mason Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Lancaster went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Wilson went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Averie Redd, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Sheridan's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Genoa Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season.

Sheridan will welcome Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Genoa Central, they will face off against Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
