Football Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Basic Wolves

The Silverado Skyhawks will take on the Basic Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Silverado's offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Desert Oasis on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Diamondbacks and fell 54-0. While losing is never fun, the Skyhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Diamondbacks are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Basic also failed to score in their most recent game. They took an 18-0 bruising from Mojave on Monday. That makes it the first time this season the Wolves have let down their home crowd.

Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Basic, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7.

Silverado was taken down by Basic 56-13 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Silverado, Halley Redd (who threw for 347 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 73 yards on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time.
