Montverde Academy dropped their record down to 27-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Catholic Celtics. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matches prior), but the Celtics' pitcher proved too tough.

Nevaeh Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

As for Trinity Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

On Trinity Catholic's side, the result came thanks to Caylee Barbe's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Trinity Catholic secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Emma Simms, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As of now, neither Montverde Academy nor the Celtics have any future games scheduled.
