The Chattanooga Central Pounders will head out on the road to square off against the Signal Mountain Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chattanooga Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Chattanooga Central was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Red Bank on Monday. Chattanooga Central put the hurt on Red Bank with a sharp 12-5 win. The Pounders haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Navaeh Frank was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Carli Morgan was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Sanaa Townsend was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Chattanooga Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Signal Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ooltewah.
Sarah Corn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Signal Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chattanooga Central, their record is now 8-3.
Signal Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chattanooga Central has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Signal Mountain, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Chattanooga Central's sizable advantage in that area, Signal Mountain will need to find a way to close that gap.
Chattanooga Central skirted past Signal Mountain 9-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chattanooga Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
