Preview: Winchester Community Golden Falcons vs. Delta Eagles
Winchester Community is 7-2 against Delta since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Winchester Community Golden Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Delta Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Winchester Community will be strutting in after a victory while Delta will be coming in after a defeat.
Winchester Community had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Hagerstown, posting a 53-20 win at home. The victory was just what Winchester Community needed coming off of a 68-40 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Delta lost to Yorktown at home by a decisive 46-30 margin last Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delta in their matchups with Yorktown: they've now lost seven in a row.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Jillian Barr and Lilly Sylvester. Sylvester had a great game and scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Meanwhile, Barr did her best for the losing side, scoring 2 points along with 4 steals and 3 blocks.
The losses dropped Winchester Community to 2-4 and Hagerstown to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Winchester Community against Delta when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 78-40 victory. Will Winchester Community repeat their success, or does Delta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
