With a playoff win on the line, Shelton rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Kennedy Eagles with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by nine runs or more this season.

Sammi Denihan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Denihan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tori Silva was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sadie Balocca was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Shelton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
